Haunted Moonville Tunnel

This Halloween was certainly spent different than any other before due to the pandemic, however, I personally found this one to be one of my favorites.  We couldn't just go to any haunted attraction due to social distancing restrictions, so we set our sights on a remote site which had been on our list to visit for years...Moonville Tunnel.  It is an abandoned train tunnel, and the tracks have been converted into a walking trail.  It was first of all absolutely beautiful.  I would say the entire trail was about a mile, and it was flat and even, which made for a lovely walk looking at the leaves.  It is a trail that is a part of Lake Hope State Park and Zaleski State Forest, it is near the Hocking Hills area of Ohio if you are familiar with that area.  The tunnel is allegedly haunted by three people, including an engineer who died working the tunnel.  While I didn't have a paranormal experience, I did find the tunnel fascinating, especially the size of it.  The photos online did not do it justice and it was much bigger than I had imagined.  If you are looking to visit the tunnel and have your own experience, keep in mind that the trailhead can be a bit hard to find and it is closed at night.  I would absolutely recommend this hike though and it is absolutely easy to hike.  I really enjoyed it and it is beautiful in its decay and the leaves along the trail were amazing in the fall.
