Wind Cave National Park

Our next stop on our great american road trip was Wind Cave National Park.  We didn't get to go into the actual cave due to covid restrictions, but we were able to drive around the park and see the breathtaking landscapes. It was exactly what I picture when I thought of a prarie.  The fields were sprawling, and absolutely filled with prarie dogs.  I loved it.  Due to the fact that we couldn't take tours, this was one of our shorter stops, but we loved driving around and walking off the main road.  I absolutely want to go back and take a tour of the caves one day soon though.  It was amazing without the caves so I can only imagine spending the day getting to see both.  One of the main perks of the covid restrictions though was the lack of people. We saw only a handful of other cars our entire time there, which I really enjoyed.  It is not often that you get to see a national park without seeing people, unless you venture off the beaten path.  I personally loved this park and I can't wait to go back.
