Carillion Historical Park

The weekend after Christmas, we went to Dayton, Ohio for the weekend and one of the things that we did was make a visit to the Carillion Historical Park.  Last year, we visited the park to view the lights and the bells of the carillion, but this year we went to visit the actual park.  The historical park is a collection of historical buildings that have been moved here as well as a Dayton history museum.  One of the buildings is an old school, another is a home, but perhaps my favorite building were the ones that features the history of the Wright brothers.  In the last room of this specific building was housed an actual Wright brother plane.  It was fascinating.  If you love Ohio history you will love this place, and if you are ever in the area at Christmas time it is incredibly beautiful and all the more idyllic. There was even a historical home that was selling gingerbread cookies and cider made in their traditional brick oven.  It was a fantastic Christmas activity.
