Mothman Festival 2018
I don't even know where to begin with this post about one of my favorite things that I have ever gotten to experience. One of the top items on my bucket list, the Mothman festival and the Mothman museum. It was everything that I wanted it to be and more. It took me forever to narrow down all the photos that I look to these photos to post here. My cousin and I went to the festival and museum on September 15 of this year. It was honestly such a big bucketlist thing for me that even getting to go was huge. It is something that I have wanted to do for years and years. I had only been to point pleasant once before, but it was just to travel through, although we did take time to see the statue. The line to get your picture with the statue this time was huge, as well as the line for the museum, but it was totally worth it. One of my favorite parts about the festival was that I was surrounded by people who had such similar interests to me. It was all the quirky people who love the bizarre stuff. I was able to chat with people and all of the merch and items that were available were amazing. There was stuff made my artisans as well as kitschy souvenir stuff and then also books and authors doing research into cryptids, aliens, and the paranormal. There were also talks and films that were shown. I think that if you have any sort of interest into the bizarre then a visit to the mothman festival is a must. I will definitely be going back next year. Some tips would be to take everything in and walk around a few times, talk to everyone, visit the museum and the tnt area. and also check out around town. The lowe hotel is cool. One other tip for visiting would be to be aware of the traffic. This is a small town, so parking is limited. Our best bet was to park far away and take a shuttle to the festival. Another tip would just be to arrive early and get there before the crowds so you can avoid the traffic a little, which is what I am hoping to do next year. While you are in the area, you should check out other apps like roadside america and some internet and book resources to see what other things are in the area. This was a great trip and I cannot wait to go back next year.
