Babcock State Park
On our recent epic West Virginia road trip, our next stop was Babcock State Park in West Virginia. It was about half an hour from where we where on the New River Gorge. I never would have added this park to our trip if it hadn't been for a few of my friends who said that this was their favorite park in the state. Now that I have been, I can definitely see why. It was such a beautiful park. The perfect example of this was the second you pulled in the park you could see this stunning old mill and waterfalls. It was this breathtaking site and you didn't even have to hike to see it. We explored around the mill for awhile, but then ventured out onto a hike. Since my grandparents were with us, we asked which hike would be easiest for them to take and that happened to be a hike around the lake. The weather was perfect for hiking. The trail got a little small at times but was easy to follow and not too strenuous of a hike. We all enjoyed it, even my grandparents who have trouble with their knees. I definitely want to go back and try several of the other trails in the park. It all looked so beautiful. I am so glad that we added this park to our list to check out.
