Take The Road Less Traveled

Sometimes, taking a different road is one of the best ways to see something new and undiscovered.  Take for instance these amazing waterfalls in West Virginia.  Last week, my mom and my grandparents and I took a trip to several parks in Virginia and West Virginia.  On the way up, my grandpa suggested that we take this back road, and oh man was that a good call.  We saw these waterfalls by simply driving up the road.  The first one we saw was this photo below, which was a small waterfall that basically went across this entire river.  It was so breathtaking to come around a turn in the road and to just see this beautiful scene.  There was a small parking lot and a dock there for fishing, but swimming was prohibited.  There was a also a small inn that hung over the edge of this, which I found out later is haunted by a confederate soldier.  My mom wanted to stay there that night, and she still insists that we will go back one day soon.  Just a few minutes up the road we saw this amazing waterfall called Cathedral Falls.  It was literally just this amazing waterfall right off the side of the road. While there were other cars there right when we arrived, we soon had the entire waterfall and area to ourselves.  It was breathtaking.  I would have been in the water for hours if it hadn't been so cold.  This is one place that I definitely do want to go back to.  I loved it all.  I think that the lesson of taking the road less traveled is one that can be applied to all areas of life, not just travel.  Sometimes the most amazing things are just off of the path that is most traveled, it takes bravery to step off of the track that everyone else is taking.  It is hard...but it is always worth it.
